Jake Olkin is a PhD Candidate whose work focusses on long duration autonomy and scientific exploration. Long duration autonomy is enabled by robust plan execution, ensuring that autonomous agents are safe during operations and reactive to changes in the environment. We tackle scientific exploration through adaptive sampling, where vehicles dynamically adjust observation priorities as they learn more about the world. Jake works in collaboration with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and his research is motivated by the Endurance Rover Mission Concept.
